Inner Sense Movement
Inner Sense Movement is a journey into our bodies. It is a conversation, through which we return to a language we knew long ago, the language we were born with – the language of our body.
To be alive is an embodied experience. Yet more often than not, as we go through life, the innately spontaneous, free-spirited, playful qualities of the language of our bodies goes amiss – we become estranged from that part of ourselves. And in its place exists a set of coordinated movements that take us from one day into the next. Where does that spontaneity of movement go? Or is that state of being alive, wholly being present in the moment and connected to our senses reserved only for very young children? I do not believe so, for no matter how removed we become from our body’s spontaneous sparks, during moments of levity where we are permitted that freedom – in those moments which we feel most alive and those are the moments which we hunger for.
Inner Sense Movement is a process which provides a safe and compassionate space for the body’s spontaneous language to come through, for the body to say what is held inside, and to release the body’s stored energies / feelings / memories. In this process, there is no judgement placed upon the body, and there is no right and wrong. There is no psychoanalysis of what the body has to express, only acceptance. And from this place of loving kindness and acceptance, we begin to embody more of our senses, we begin to reconnect and travel deeper to our visceral experience.
“We are connected through experiences Every moment recorded, every smell a memory Every touch changes us forever We live in this world through our senses”
In this journey of re-acquaintance with the body’s own language, my role is that of a conscious witness – someone who holds conscious space for you, and your body, so that you are seen. It can be challenging for many of us to be seen by another, especially when opening ourselves up in a way that feels vulnerable. But it is in stepping out of our comfort zones that growth occurs, and magic happens.
One of the beautiful benefits of working with a conscious witness is that the process helps to shed layers of self-consciousness that may have built over the years. Self-consciousness can be linked to shame, self-loathing and feelings of unworth. From this place of self-consciousness, to move freely in the view of another can feel like such a terrifying or weird thing to do. Yet as humans we need to be seen; we need to be embraced by other humans. And it is amazing how a few sessions of movement practice can begin to create shifts in us, moving us, from a place of self-conscious hiding, to a place of confident self-acceptance. As you work with me, your conscious witness, we engage in a process which provides your system the opportunity to recondition itself – to reprogram those feelings of shame of being seen – to a knowing that it is okay to be seen. To be seen is natural. To be seen is but human. We all deserve to be seen with compassionate eyes. And this process, which I call Inner Sense Movement, helps us to see ourselves, and our bodies, with our own compassionate and loving eyes.

Lorem ipsum, or lipsum as it is sometimes known, is dummy text used in laying out print, graphic or web designs. The passage is attributed to an unknown typesetter in the 15th century who is thought to have scrled parts of Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum for use.
